Technical Review of Ten Mile Creek Alternatives Study Project

St. Lucie County, Florida

The study investigated two alternatives for attenuating Ten Mile Creek seasonal stormwater flood flows into the North Fork of St. Lucie River by pumping them into the proposed Ten Mile Creek reservoir.  The alternatives included a Balanced Cut and Fill across entire reservoir (larger reservoir) and Opposite Borrow for Levee Construction (smaller reservoir). The study used a frequency based approach to conduct a mass balance for the proposed reservoir. Conducted a detailed technical review to verify the mass balance and expected annual volume estimation calculations.

Water Budget Analysis for the Proposed Schwartz Tract Development

Houston, Texas

Created water budgets to investigate the feasibility of maintaining a series of amenity lakes within the proposed development. The modeling for the 1100-acre tract analyzed the effects of different seepage values and contributing catchment runoff coefficients on pond water levels for very dry years based on monthly precipitation and evaporation values. The dry years were identified from a 57-year (1940-1996) data set from the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) records for the Houston area.

Water Budget Analysis for Boomers Family Fun Center

Austin, Texas

Stormwater modeling, detention storage quantification and box culvert design using the HEC-1, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS and WinStorm models. The project lies in a 20-acre tract of land in the Gilleland Creek Watershed partly in the City of Austin and partly in Travis County, Texas. Estimated water budgets to investigate the feasibility of locating a wet pond within the Boomers Family Fun Center.
